Four years, 3,937 meetings, one region

What four years of calling the same market leaves behind, and what it is actually worth to the company that hires the team next.

An outbound engagement is usually sold as a number of meetings. That is the invoice line, and it is the wrong way to think about what you are buying.

The meetings are consumed. What persists is the map: which companies exist, who inside them owns which problem, which industries answer a cold call and which never will, which weeks of the year are dead, and which of last year's contacts has since moved to a competitor and will take your call because of it.

Here is ours, counted rather than remembered.

The shape of it

Since 2022 we have booked 3,937 meetings for 61 client accounts and confirmed 2,856 of them held. Those meetings were with 2,659 companies.

Joining the meeting record to our CRM by company name matches 2,663 of them, and 2,252 carry an industry we can rely on. That is the sample the rest of this rests on, and the gap is worth stating plainly: a third of the earliest work predates the CRM we use now and lives in an older system, so it is counted in the totals and absent from the breakdown.

Within that sample the region sorts itself into a small number of buckets. Retail and consumer businesses take the most meetings, then technology and IT, then construction and real estate, then hospitality, food and travel, then banking. Manufacturing, logistics, telecoms, healthcare and energy follow in a tight cluster. Government is smaller than outsiders expect, which is not a statement about the size of government spending here. It is a statement about how government buys, which is not by taking a cold call.

Where it happens

The UAE accounts for more than half of everything we can place, with Saudi Arabia at roughly a third of the UAE's volume and Egypt behind it. Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain together make up a meaningful tail, and 65 per cent of all placeable meetings sit inside the six GCC states.

The rest is the long tail of a regional business: India, Pakistan, Turkey, the United States and Europe, mostly because a client's buyer sits in a head office somewhere else even when the deal is here.

The database underneath

Our CRM now holds 25K+ companies, 63K+ contacts and 41K+ deals.

About six thousand of those companies arrived in a single fortnight in July 2022, when the existing book was migrated in. Everything after that, roughly nineteen thousand companies, was researched, called and recorded by the team. Every record is a person someone actually tried to reach, with the outcome attached.

That is the asset. Not the row count, which any list vendor can beat by an order of magnitude, but the fact that each row has been tested. A purchased list tells you a company exists. Ours tells you that this company was approached in March 2024, that the head of operations took the meeting, that the objection was budget timing rather than fit, and that the person who raised it has since moved to a competitor down the road.

What this is worth to the next client

Three things, in descending order of value.

Speed to the right person. A team that has already found the operations lead at forty industrial groups does not repeat that research for the forty-first client.

A calibrated no. We know which segments do not buy this way here, and we will say so in the first fortnight rather than the sixth month. That saves more money than any number of extra meetings.

A read on timing. Four dead periods a year, predictable to the week: the end of December, the middle of Ramadan, the peak of August, and the fortnight around Eid. Plan a three-month campaign across two of them and the arithmetic is decided before anyone dials.

Four years of calling one region is not a credential. It is a dataset, and the useful thing about a dataset is that it can be checked. Ours is on this site: forty engagements, every number traced to the week it was recorded, including the eleven where we do not publish the hold rate because it was not good enough.
